1. Who We Are – Not a Law Firm
Curbside Legal is a legal document preparation service operating in California in general accordance with Business and Professions Code sections 6400-6415. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not provide legal advice or representation. Using our website or services does not create an attorney-client relationship. We prepare documents at your specific direction based on information you provide. Only a licensed attorney can give you legal advice, select a legal strategy, or represent you in court. If you need legal advice, please consult a licensed California attorney.
2. Our Services
We prepare court-ready and personal legal documents and provide self-help instructional packets. The accuracy and completeness of any document depends on the information you give us. We do not independently verify the facts you provide, and we do not choose which legal action is right for you.
3. Digital Products and Downloads
Our downloadable filing packets are licensed to you for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, redistribute, or republish them. Because digital products are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, all sales of downloadable products are final unless the file is defective or you were charged in error, in which case we will promptly correct the issue. Official California Judicial Council and government forms referenced in our packets are free to the public; you are paying for our instructions, organization, and guidance.
4. Payments and Fees
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Our fees are for document preparation and digital products only. Court filing fees, recording fees, publication costs, and process-server fees are separate and are paid by you directly to the court or vendor. Prices are subject to change.
5. Turnaround and Rush Service
Most documents are prepared within a few business days depending on complexity. Rush service, where offered, expedites preparation but does not guarantee any court outcome or filing deadline.
6. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate information, reviewing all documents before signing or filing, meeting court deadlines, and complying with your court’s specific rules. Court rules, forms, and fees change and vary by county.
7. No Guarantee of Outcome
We do not and cannot guarantee any particular result, ruling, approval, or court outcome. Document preparation does not include legal representation.
8. Intellectual Property
All original content on this website and in our packets – text, instructions, designs, and branding – is owned by Curbside Legal and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Curbside Legal is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, products, or services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the product or service at issue.
10. Indemnification
You agree to hold Curbside Legal harmless from claims arising out of inaccurate information you provided or your use or filing of prepared documents.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in California.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
